Working as a general nurse for the past 30 years has given me a broad understanding of the human condition.
As a result, my knowledge of anatomy & physiology alongside my consideration of public health in general, led me to explore the Feldenkrais Method.

The Feldenkrais Method

As a Feldenkrais Practitioner, I have completed a professional training program over 4 years through the Australian Feldenkrais Guild Inc. (AFG). This guild is a non-profit professional organisation which liases with Feldenkrais Guilds internationally via the International Federation (IFF).

“What I’m after isn’t flexible bodies, but fexible minds. What I’m after is to restore each person to their human dignity.”

— Moshe Feldekrais

What We Can Do

  • Functional Integration (FI)

Functional integration is a one-on-one session. The practitioner uses soft non-invasive, exploratory touch to offer the person new options for movement patterns. This method works with the persons nervous system, guiding them to become aware of ‘how’ they move and what feels more comfortable or efficient.

  • Awareness through Movement (ATM)
This is a verbally guided group setting where we explore a sequence of movements at your own pace. These lessons involve gentle exploratory movements that encourage participants to notice their movement patterns. This work fosses on improving body awareness, movement efficiency and overall wellbeing.
